Your Thoughts and Feeback Are Appreciated!

Another quarter has almost passed.  What a long, crazy winter this has been!  I'm so glad that we are ending with what I'm hoping will be warmer temperatures and a little bit of sunshine! It’s been a pleasure getting to know all of you this quarter and I hope that you stay in touch, and continue to post on the blog whenever you want.

With that being said, my final question to you is, “What did you like or dislike about the class?  What could I do to make the class better?”  Answers are due no later than Sunday, March 23rd, 2014  After that, the blog will be down until class resumes next quarter.

  2. First and foremost I would like to say THANKS... I truly enjoyed this class and listening and reading the different points of view from everyone. It has not only helped me in my educational journey but also to somewhat understand my teenage daughters a little better. I really don't see a way to make the class better. I liked the in class assignments and the extra credit. The blog was excellent I just needed to remember to do them before Sunday night.

  3. At first, I thought this class was unnecessary to me but the more I learned, the more I became a little more knowledgeable of how the government works. Of course, I may not become an expert on every topic we've talked about thus far but I may retain some of the materials that we've covered. I don't think that the course could be changed. It's relatively easy and we have a good time in class. I've actually enjoyed this class.

  4. Heres one thing I thought with this class. I thought it was a general history class, but then as we went further and further into the quarter. I was loving it a lot, and learned a lot from our topic discussions and loved watching the video documentaries, and so much more. I hope I can continue on your blogs here. I am loving those and give my own opinions on them, some were tricky, but loved the challenge! I'm going to miss this class after my quarter. I learned so much from it.

  5. I honestly loved this class and im not really a political guy but we discussed REAL issues about REAL life and I learned a lot im grateful to have taken the course Stephanie you're a great teacher, hope you continue to change mindsets and impact the youths way of thinking. Only thing I hated about the class was that it was in the morning -___-...

  6. Personally, I loved the fact that the class was not entirely based on lectures, you divided class time to be on the test, and then went to a group project or notes then finally a well thought out video that related to the topic of the week and gave us questions we needed to answer as we watched. I did not like the tests every week, but it assisted in keeping us up to speed and not losing what is supposed to be learned. So for that, I have to admit, the tests were worth it. They weren’t that difficult to prepare for, you kept us alert to what we should focus on remembering. However, I would like to see improvements in your promises Ms. James. You promised us breakfast at least once, yet I remember leaving class as hungry as I came in! I’m just kidding, you were a wonderful teacher, very verbal and energized for the morning. I think the way you have structured your classroom activities has made learning Historical and Political Events a fun time not seen when first approached. Thank you for your stories, and your wisdom! I may even keep this blog on my account so I can see what topics you cover next with future quarters. Maybe!

  7. I definitely learned a lot in this class because when it comes to politics I am usually very confused. I like how in this class things were explained and looked at in different aspects. A lot of topics in class have made me look at the world differently and made me realize how many rules our government has to follow on a daily basis. My favorite thing I learned is when you told us that part in Forrest Gump when he cant sleep because of the men across the street with the flashlights was the Watergate scandal. I never understood why that was in the movie until you explained it. Over all this class is very important and it was very educational.

  9. The quarter was good and I learned a few new subjects about the government. The class activities were clever and interactive. Other than that, the class was an average quarter class.

  10. I think this class was consistent. Which is not always a bad thing. Don't get me wrong sometimes doing the same thing will drive me mad. But this class wasn't boring. We talked about real issues of today's time. Which kept the class fresh for me. Overall I had a great experience in this class that i certainly won't forget.

  11. This was an interesting class for me. The opinions were always fun to listen to and i enjoy hearing everyones opinions even is I though they were crazy! The only thing I would change about the class is the blogs being due on sunday, I think it would be better to have them due either monday night or before class on tuesday. Other than that I enjoyed the class and would like to thank you for the experience !

  12. I loved the class. Kindasucks that I didn't get put in the class until the third week but it was coo. My favorite part of the class would have to be the blogs. The really let us students express there thoughts.

  13. I think the class was interesting and i learned a lot. Also i think this class open my mind more about history and politics more because i was not big on politics. I think doing the blogs gave me a way to express how i feel about a certain topic. Overall i enjoyed the class and your are a great instructor, always full of energy!

  14. I know that this is late and won't count for my grade, but I wanted to go ahead and post anyways.
I learned a lot this quarter. Things that I had no idea about like the federal bank and where all the money goes and comes from, and about how the congress works exactly. Even though I knew how much the news was filtered, I didn't realize HOW much the news was filtered, to tell the story they want us to hear and not necessarily the real story.

I think you have a great system on how to run this class and I like and appreciate that.
