Your Thoughts and Feedback Are Appreciated!

Well another quarter has come and gone!  I have enjoyed getting to know all of you and hearing your opinions in class!  I wish all of you blessings and success in the future, and hope that you stay in touch.

So for our last blog post, I would like to get your thoughts and feedback on the class.  "What did you like or dislike about the class?  What could I do to make it better?"  Answers are due no later than Wednesday, March 22, 2017.  After that, the blog will be down until class resumes next quarter. I wish all of you a happy and safe Spring break!!

  1. I really enjoyed the class. We talked about some very interesting and controversial topics. I learned a lot of new things and had my eyes opened to politics. I still don't like politics but I know it's important.
I also enjoyed getting out of class early. :)
P.S. I was actually supposed to be in another class at this time, but I'm glad I got this class out of the way.

  6. What I liked most about this class is how much of an open environment you made it feel like. This is obviously a very controversial class so I appreciate how you encouraged us to speak out minds & voice our opinions but also be open-minded to other people's opinions and/or parts of life we may not have experienced.
I don't think there is anything you could do to make this class any better... you're already doing a wonderful job now! You prepared us accordingly for what we needed to know, you expanded our viewpoints on a lot of things, & you managed to turn mundane subjects into something interesting & something that was easy to understand. Thank you so much for an amazing quarter & I hope you enjoy your trips this summer! Best of wishes.

At first, I thought I would despise this class - all because of the topic on Historical and Political issues - it's not an easy subject to get interested in. That is, unless the teacher is really good at teaching the subject. That being said, this class was actually pretty great to go to. I don't think I can suggest anything to make it better. Keep up the good work, this was a pretty good class!

  8. I really enjoyed every aspect of this class. We were given honest and important information through a straight forward approach. The only part I disliked was the registrar trying to boot me out. Thank you for your help, guidance, and knowledge.

  9. I enjoyed the honest debating we had in class. One thing i disliked was when we were put in groups, not that it happened very often, but I just personally greatly dislike group activities. I also feel like i'm leaving this class knowing a lot more than I did coming in.

  10. Though at first i had thought i would not enjoy a class regarding politics, simply because there was much i did not understand about the subject, i found myself becoming interested in our lectures. It also helped out a lot that you were a teacher who was incredibly invested in the subject and made it easy to understand. You made the class lively and didn't sugar coat the reality in certain government laws. I actually looked forward to class and wish it wasn't just eleven weeks. My only wish is that we had group activities. I'm not always one for group work but i can see the benefit in them. One of the big parts of the fields we students are heading into is connections; it is important for getting ahead in our career lives. Group projects help me get to know my fellow students outside my field of study, i really wouldn't know half the kids i know without them. I can honestly say that unless they sat near me in political history i do not know many of the people in class. I really don't know the whole right side of the class. I doubt i could even give you one of their names.

  11. I wasn't really looking forward to this class in the very beginning since it was going to be about politics but in the end i actually enjoyed it. You made the class fun which made it easier to understand, the powerpoints and quizzes helped. Im more aware now about politics and its important to know. One thing i would suggest is more group activities, getting to know each other a little better. But other then that, you did great!

  12. I very much appreciated that you didn't require us to memorize things like dates and names as much as past historical classes I've taken. I have a better understanding of politics, enjoyed the class overall and the powerpoints were very helpful as well!

  13. "What did you like or dislike about the class? What could I do to make it better?"

What I liked about the class is that I learned a whole ton about many different topics, from the structures of our Government to the fast melting of the ice. I didn't really dislike anything!!! This class was fun!

  14. I love the class! It opened my eyes even more to the world that we live in. I also loved how much of a opened minded teacher you are and I love how you want us all to care. the only thing I would ask for is to make the blogs due the day of class. that would have been awesome.
