Your Thoughts and Feedback Are Appreciated!

Well another quarter has come and gone!  When we started together it was nice and warm, and now there is no doubt winter is here! I have enjoyed getting to know all of you and hearing your opinions in class!  I wish all of you blessings and success in the future, and hope that you stay in touch.

So for our last blog post, I would like to get your thoughts and feedback on the class.  "What did you like or dislike about the class?  What could I do to make it better?"  Answers are due no later than Wednesday, December 14th 2016.  After that, the blog will be down until class resumes next quarter. I wish all of you a merry and bright holiday season!!

  1. I enjoyed this class a lot more than I had anticipated going into it! I was not excited about Historical and Political Issues, but you made it more enjoyable! I like that we got out early every week of course, I like that I learned about a subject that is important to the real world, I enjoyed all the laughter and fun we had! Additionally, although I hate quizzes and whatnot, the quizzes were manageable and I appreciate that. One area that I think could have gone better was around election time. I know it could be hard to remain unbiased, but I do wish it was unbiased. Merry Christmas! I enjoyed this class overall.

  2. When I was choosing which classes to sign up for last quarter, this was the class I was dreading the most. I thought it would not be that interesting and that we would just have a lot of homework overall. I really ended up liking this class and also I actually ended up finding interest in quite a few topics that we have discussed, which I was unaware of prior to. Additionally, I was very excited not really having any homework outside of class other than these blogs and the final(which I don't mind one bit). Overall I have really enjoyed this class! The only thing that I wish we did not have to do is the speech..just because I try to avoid them at all costs!

  3. It's Katie: I just wanted to let you know how fantastic of a teacher you are. You completely changed politics for me and your right, i should be pissed off about certain issues, and now i do get pissed off about it. I'll handle it like an adult, but i do get pissed off. So much has happened to me this quarter that has been life changing in some of the most stressful ways possible. That's the sad honest truth, but i want you to know how much i have appreciated you this whole quarter. Your a fantastic teacher, you are a fantastic person, and you actually understand us as students. You are probably one of the best teachers at the school and im not kissing up, im not just trying to be flattering, Im being honest and i can even explain why you are a fantastic teacher. You have found the perfect balance between testing and creative activities which is incredibly important becuase for a lot of the students at this school testing is very stressful and difficult and you understand that and have given those of us who are like that a great balance to put our creative side out and so the test arent as stressful. Writing this is making me so emotional becuase I love your class so much and i love you as a teacher and I know that i am never going to have you again, and its kind of heartbreaking becuase so many teachers could learn from you on how they SHOULD be teaching. You've been supportive this quarter and you understand how i have been struggling and you have given me great advice that has helped significantly. So everything you have done as a teacher inside class and outside of class has meant so much to me and i hope you know how incredible you really are. Your one of the very few general education teachers who is 110% passionate in what their teaching and you also care about your students and that should mean so much to so many people and so my only suggestion is that you don't leave this school because your too fantastic of a teacher for the school to lose. The school might not see it, but I do and I hope that others do as well. You were amazing so thankyou so much for this quarter and I am really going to miss you.

  4. I honestly enjoyed this class way more than I thought I was going too. You turned what I thought was going to be a boring subject into something enjoyable. And yes, now I get pissed off about certain topics because my eyes were opened. Thank you so much for being so passionate about this class because now I'm passionate about these topics.

  5. You are such a great teacher. You made this class fun and interesting. I have never been interested in a lot of political issues but you honestly have changed that. We should be getting pissed off about many aspects of things that surround us everyday. You have made this subject way more intriguing than I thought. Going into this class I thought it was just going to be another boring class that everybody has to take. I dread taking non fashion courses or anything that doesn't have to do with my major but you changed that for this class. I honestly think theres not much you need to change. I loved this class and everything about it!

  6. I really enjoyed being in your class, I'm not normally involved in politics or interested in history but you made it very interesting and easy to listen to and follow along. After taking this class I would definitely say I'm more interested to in the past and that my way of thinking has changed. I liked how well you explained things and how passionate you are on the topic. My favorite thing was watching the videos and learning about the Hurricane Katrina victims.

  7. I loved being able to discuss politics and being able to learn more about the subject. This class was very insightful and entertaining to me. I really appreciated having you as a teacher. You definitely made this the most fun gen ed course I've taken at this school. If there is one thing at all I didn't exactly enjoy about the class, it would be the fact that the blog responses are due the night before class. Obviously, this made getting them in more of a struggle for me, but I understand why you have it set up this way.

  8. I personally loved your class. not just because I love politics either. I think "you're the bomb" haha and by that I mean a really cool person. the class was very manageable and I think we all appreciated the summarized lectures. Thanks for a great quarter, and I hope I can have you again for class some day. I wish the blogs would be due right before class however so I don't keep forgetting. but don't forget...you're awesome :)
