The Summer Olympics begin on Friday! For
those who know me, you know that I am a HUGE fan of the Olympics (An election and the Olympics?! I'm in television heaven!). I love the
artistry of the opening ceremonies. I get all caught up in the emotional
stories of the athletes who have struggled so hard and overcome so many
obstacles just to make their Olympic dreams come true. I watch sports I've
never even heard of before (like curling) and I always, always cheer for the
underdog.
So, to have a little fun this week, I’ll go
easy on you. My question this week is,
"What is your favorite Olympic sport, and why?" It's funny
because I'm way too uncoordinated to play sports, but I love watching them on
television. My favorite Olympic sports are gymnastics and swimming in
the Summer Olympics and snowboarding during the Winter Olympics. Their
tricks look amazing! Answers are due no later than Wednesday, August
10th, 2016.
When it comes to the Olympics I have a few i like. In the summer i like the Archery event and for the winter games i like ice hockey, and snowboarding. The reason i like archery is because i use to do it at camp when i was younger and its just something i grew to love. And with Hockey and snowboarding, Well I was born in Canada and i was raised around hockey and snowboarding. I am going to miss the snow just for snowboarding when I move to Hawaii, but I am ready to get out of the snow.!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll be honest I've never watched the Olympics except maybe the few times I have seen the opening ceremonies. But I might be interested in seeing video games put into the Olympics if it isn't all ready. Or if they have fencing that would be cool to see as well.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Olympic sport is swimming because I went to a pool party last month. The water is not cold, and I played with my Mermaid Barbie doll named Sirena. I got her on my sixteenth birthday.
ReplyDeleteI've never actually fully watched the Olympics, though I think I would like to watch most of it this year. My favorite sport is probably archery, as it's the one I find most unique. Also, my sister used to do archery, so I am also familiar with it.

Although I'm not that into the Olympics (too tedious), when I do opt to whatch I like seeing swimming, but mainly gymnastics. I like the swimming part for what it is-a head on competition that gets your adrenaline pumping in a matter of seconds from start to finish (in my opinion). Gymnastics on the other hand, gives me anxiety! However, I like watching it because I, for whatever reason, like the suspense of not knowing how each performance is going to go or end. I honestly think, in some way or another, just about everybody be on the edge of their seats when the slip-ups are close or comes into play. The Gabby Douglas story recently gave me momentum to continue to watch the gymnastics part of the Olympics as well; so inspiring.

ReplyDeleteI always watched the Olympics, whenever I could catch it, and I would have to say Gymnastics, and Ice skating are amaze balls! I have always wanted to do gymnastics, as well as Ice skating, but in my township they only offered gymnastics for women, and my parents don't even know anyone who ice skates so, I was pretty screwed there(besides, they would have never payed so much$$).
ReplyDeleteThe floor exercises have always been my favorite part to watch women do, while men i have always loved the balance beam spin around thing, as well as the rings, OMG the rings! I believe they're my favorite because they are intriguing, mostly because I could so see myself doing those same activities, I just don't know how...

Honestly I've never in my life watched the Olympics. Sports and competitions do not interest me at all.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite sport is soccer, but i'm really happy with the first golden medal from Hoang Xuan Vinh about gun shooting. He won Vietnam's first ever Olympic gold medal. He ended Vietnam’s six-decade wait for a first Olympic gold medal on Saturday. I'm so pround of him.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite sport is swimming , I didn't get to look at it but I have never seen the Olympics.
ReplyDeleteMy Favorite Olympic sport is gymnastic! Growing up I always wanted to be a gymnast, my older sister was a gymnast but it was hard for my parents to watch her, she broke some bones once and that was it, no one else in the family could be a gymnast. So naturally I became a self-taught gymnast basically a tumbler and learned how to do practically every flip. I Love watching gymnastic both male and and female because it takes a lot of strength and coordination, and more importantly mental strength.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Olympic sport would have to be swimming because I find it interesting how the swimmers glad through the water also how they can do it so fast.
ReplyDeleteI love ice skating, I would always watch the figure skating stuff on late night TV. Never watched the Olympics but I'd probably gravitate towards ice skating because of the graceful but immensely skillful movements and artfully prepared routines.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Olympics!!! Diving and swimming are my faviorts. Followed up by beach volley ball. I always find myself watching many more then just these. I am not sure what it is about the Summer Olympics that I love so much, becuase I never watch the Winter Olympics...lol. I'm not going to lie I really do LOVE it when I see USA #1! lol
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of the Olympics as well. My favorite sport is soccer, because since as young lad soccer has always been one of my favorite sports to play during recess or in the neighborhood.

I don't really watch the Olympics. Never really cared for sports. Only ever really liked the history of it.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say my favorite olympic sport is swimming. The races are always so close and competitive, with the top 3 usually being just fractions of a second behind......overall I really like all of the events in the olympics though. Such a cool event! -Corey Music
ReplyDeleteI love the olympics! I like to watch gymnastics because it's the coolest. and it's what i did for 12 years of my life so i know and relate to their struggle (not on their same level obviously though). It is unfortunate though that the athletes have to go through the Rio conditions because they really are terrible.

ReplyDeleteI don't normally watch the olympics but my favorite sport to watch would be gymnastics I guess because I find it fascinating. The floor routines are awesome.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Olympics sport has to be the rhythmic gymnastics. It's very flowy and artistic. I love how graceful the gymnasts are in their routine. <3
ReplyDeleteI also enjoy hooping, and other things that involves dancing, manipulation, and optical illusions with objects.

All students do not have reliable transportation or bus fare. Just as there is aid for attending school there needs to be aid for living expenses
