Your Thoughts and Feedback Are Appreciated!

Well another quarter has come and gone!  I have enjoyed getting to know all of you and hearing your opinions in class!  When we started together, most of you hated politics, and now you are ready to go out and change the world!  I wish all of you blessings and success in the future.  Next quarter, for the first time ever, I will not be teaching this class.  I'm not sure how often I'll be posting on the blog, but at the very least, I'll have an open forum for students to post, check-in and stay in touch!

So for our last blog post, I would like to get your thoughts and feedback on the class.  "What did you like or dislike about the class?  What could I do to make it better?"  Answers are due no later than Wednesday, March 25th, 2015.  After that, the blog will be down until class resumes next quarter. Enjoy the break!

  1. I really enjoyed the class, I hated the quizzes at first but grew to appreciate them; I enjoyed that the questions were very straight forward and after the first couple of weeks they encouraged me to be more attentive during lectures which led me to realize there were actually topics in politics I was genuinely interested in, which I wasn't aware of before this class! I think this class was a perfect mix of laid back but informative. I think your teaching style is very effective and gets us to be more interactive during class discussions. Overall I've unexpectedly enjoyed the class. Thanks for a good quarter, see you in Business Law!

  2. I liked the class generally but I don't feel belong in the class. It is just because I didn't grow up in US. So I cannot feel sympathy what people experienced.
But overall I had good time with this class. It was pretty fun time to listen about I didn't pay attention.

  3. First off, You are a reallllly awesome teacher! I enjoyed this class and usually I absolutely hate Gen. Ed classes because they don't interest me but this class actually did. I feel like I know a lot more about Historical AND Political issues and policies than I did before this class. I honestly don't think there is any better way for you to teach the class. I think it is great that during lecture you tell us what to study for the following week's quiz. KEEP DOING THAT, it helps A LOT! LOL. I hope that you have a great and SAFE trip to Uganda, God Bless You for what you are doing! Thank you so much for teaching me all that you did and being a FUN professor.

  4. This class was excellent, I Loved hearing everyone's opinions and having discussions in class. You were a phenomenal teacher and I genuinely cannot think of any way to improve the class. Maybe fireworks and choreographed dance numbers? Perhaps confetti? In all seriousness this class was very informative and I am eternally grateful that the art institutes has us take a course that informs us about the issues, hopefully you've inspired more people to go out and vote!

  5. It was a great review of how the government runs, would have liked to have spent more time talking about current political issues.

  6. YOU DA BOMB MISS STEPHANIE. Sorry I just had to. But I really did enjoy the class and learned a lot from everything in the political world. I have a different view of the world and ask even more questions about why the world runs the way it does.

  7. I actually had a pretty good time in this class. I've never really been into politics before (mainly because it's a tough subject for me to learn, which really isn't a good excuse), but this class has given me an interest in it. I also think you're a fun teacher and I really liked the way you taught class!

  8. I had a great time in your class this quarter! Having two of your classes really helps someone learn and understand the Government, and even a little about themselves! I appreciate that you make this class really hands on actually. I hope you have a great time in Africa and have safe travels! Hope to see you around!

  9. I actually enjoyed this class a lot more than I was expecting to. I enjoyed being able to open up and discuss my opinions about things in front of others, and I also really appreciated the fact that we didn't have a lot of homework outside of class. The only thing I didn't really care for was the United Nations thing, but I've never been really great with working in a group so that's probably just personal bias rather than a problem with the class. I enjoyed taking this class and having you as a teacher, and I hope to see you again in the future!

  10. First off, I enjoyed this class because of you. I wasnt looking forward to taking this class because I have a hard time paying attention. I like how interactive the class was and the blog every week. Thank you for opening my eyes and opening my interest into the political world. Have a great trip in Africa and thanks for everything!

  11. I'd like to take this oppportunity to thank you for making a type that has the potential of being a bit dry, extremely interesting. Your ability to explain that topic in a way that is easy for everyone to interpret, was extremely helpful. I appreciate the fact that you were readily available and made it me feel comfortable to contact you, in the event an issue should arise. Thank you for a productive quarter.

  12. I really enjoyed the class, but as you said it should, some of the stuff we discussed pissed me off! I came home in a bad mood more than once. However, you really made the class both an interesting and educational experience and I'm so sad for the students that won't have you for this class!

  13. indeed! i got to enjoy the class. i'm really going to really miss the humor, and the playfulness that you gave us. I liked this class because it kind of opened up my eyes into knowing on whats really going on in the government. It felt like i was a step closer to adulthood. And i liked how we got to voice our opinions on discussions that we had in class. This class was fun! out of all of the classes that i've had in my high school, and middle school were pretty boring. Through my academic years this is the FIRST class i actually enjoyed being in.
when i first got in the class i thought it was going to be boring but i was wrong. It's a very educational class and i really do feel sorry for the kids who won't have you. This is the only class i would actually show up for. I don't really think you've could've done anything better in the class because you made it fun and, educational at the same time. I wish more classes would be like this class. But anyway i thank you for your honesty, and sharing your knowledge with the class. Have a safe trip to Africa. And stay blessed :)

  14. I didn't enjoy this class mainly because I never liked this subject even in high school. I don't know how to make it better seeing how I disliked the class.
