Your Thoughts and Feedback Are Appreciated!

Well another quarter has come and gone!  I have enjoyed getting to know all of you and hearing your opinions in class!  When we started together, most of you hated politics, and now you are ready to go out and change the world!  I wish all of you blessings and success in the future.  Please stay in touch and feel free to visit and post on the blog whenever you like.

So for our last blog post, I would like to get your thoughts and feedback on the class.  "What did you like or dislike about the class?  What could I do to make it better?"  Answers are due no later than Sunday, September 15th, 2013.  After that, the blog will be down until class resumes next quarter.  To those of you who are graduating, congratulations on all your hard work and achievements!  For everyone else, I hope you enjoy the break!  Signing off for the last time....(okay maybe not the last time, but it sounded good)

  1. I liked that for the class you told us exactly what was going to be on the quiz. The blogs helped us by having an easy grade. We just have to post our opinions. I did not like the group work or presentations though. I'm not comfortable with it.

  2. You're right I really didn't care for politics. Lol. I'm not going to say I love them now but I do feel more enlightened and its a topic I would discuss. I actually enjoyed hearing others opinions whether I agreed or not, it's always good to hear all sides of the story. It also helped me be more mindful to other countries and their issues that we as the US are oblivious to. I also liked the blog topics; they were very interesting. Overall I liked the class and the teacher.

  3. I really enjoyed this class for the quarter! No homework is always a big help when dealing with other classes and I really feel like you do a great job in "dumbing" down politics for us to really comprehend it. I felt like I actually learned something and it wasn't a gruesome class as much as politics may seem gruesome. Good luck if you go overseas again next year! Thanks for all of your help and for making politics fun!

  4. I enjoyed the class. Before this class I didn't really care about politics or the history but now I pay more attention to what I hear and see on the news. I feel that you did a good job.

  5. I did enjoy the class a lot actually.I'm obviously not the most talkative person in the world, but I'm very observant. I like to hear others' opinions and I learned a lot form you. This topic isn't that interesting when it comes to having to teach it, but you make it fun. I enjoyed not having "homework" other than a blog post and studying for a quiz, and it works great when other classes are so time consuming.

  6. I loved that there was no homework as such. It was good that you told in advance what to study for the quiz. That made things easier. I am happy that now at least I know something about the US Constitution, which I had no idea about when I started this class. The best part was the blogs. Now I know about most of the issues that I didn’t bother about earlier.

Thanks for making history so interesting. Never thought studying history could be so much fun.

There is nothing about this class that I didn’t like. I think you are already doing a great job and their is nothing I would like you to change.

    Thanks,

  7. The class turned out better than I thought it would. I didn't think I would like it at first because I don't like hearing other people's opinions (this is coming from a very opinionated person :P). This is another Gen Ed class under my belt and I am that much closer to graduating.

  10. I really enjoyed this class. I feel like I learned a lot and have a better understand with historical and political issues. Overall, I think you did a great job. I enjoyed every class meeting and everything we read and watched, it was all very interesting. My favorite thing has been blogging. All the topics you chose were intriguing and it was cool to read what the other students posted.

I want to say thank you for all that you have taught me and thank you for making something that seemed so boring, so interesting. Also, you are a pretty funny gal. Your personal stories in between the lectures made listening easy. I am always thankful to have cool teachers like you. Keep it real!

  11. First off I just want to say I absolutely love the blog, more classes should do it and I really enjoyed all the discussions we had throughout the quarter.

I'm normally full of suggestions but I can't really think of much, I really liked everything. it could be cool for the presentations in the future to maybe set up a debate? if two students are on the other side of an issue, their presentation could be a debate, though I might be the only person who would find that fun.

Great class though, I'm definitely gonna keep following the blog!

  13. I really liked this class! Not having homework was great, since I had so much to do for my senior classes. I liked how you divided the lectures up with activities or videos. I think the blog is a great way to get the class more involved. I know it helped me to express my opinions on here. I usually don't share my feelings when other people are talking about politics, but now I think I'll be more confident in talking about these issues. Thanks!

  14. I really enjoyed the topics and discussions in this class. I liked that there were weekly quizzes instead of mounds of homework. I honestly have never really paid attention to any of the topics up close before. I guess in reality it didn't effect me much because I didn't really understand what they were talking about. But now that I know I will pay more attention and become more aware. Thanks so much! This class was awesome!!!

  15. I enjoyed a lot of topics for this class but instead of discussions i wish that we actually had hands on activities that somehow relate to the subject. It just helps the learning process. I work late at night with UPS and waking up really early to a subject class is hard when all we do is talk. The blogs were interesting but I lost a lot of points cause I am not used to this at all. All in all a good class. I just have my own quirks.

  16. I really actually ended up enjoying the class. The open discussions that we had over these 11 weeks helped me to put certain situations into a different perspective that i wouldn't have before. One thing that i did like about the class is that the class covered what seemed to me alot of information. The number 1 thing that this class opened my eyes to was that voting is very important and that although i thought at first it did not directly affect me, it really does make a difference.

  17. The class was very interesting and I really liked hearing other opinions. I was scared at first if anyone was going to yell at another student because of that person's opinion, but it never happend. I had to recently change my California liciense to a Indian state liciense and when asked if I would like to become a registerd voter I happily said "Yes"

  18. I really enjoyed this class, which was a surprise to me. I liked some of the videos because watching them was getting the feeling of the people you were watching. The tests weren't to hard compared to others I have taken but you still learned from it.
