Thankful for Thanksgiving

Now, I have made it clear in class that Thanksgiving is not my favorite holiday. I don't like the way schools fictionalize a story that sounds good, while ignoring the sad facts about how we really treated Native Americans in this country. That being said, I have learned to treat Thanksgiving as a reminder of all the things I am thankful for.

This year, as always, I am thankful for my faith, my family and my friends. I am blessed to be surrounded by people who love me. I am also thankful that I have two jobs in an economy where people often can't find one. I have been blessed this year in buying my first home and I am thankful that I have the means to do so.

So, in honor of the holiday my question to you this week will be an easy one. "What are you thankful for this holiday season?" Answers are due no later than Sunday, November 28th, 2010.  Have a happy and safe holiday weekend!

They been really helpful to me as of this year. Third, the faculty of this college for helping me when I had problems I need to solve here. I am thankful to have the opportunity to go to school and receive a good education, so that I can hopefully use my knowledge to do some good in this world some day.

Although I complain sometimes about being so tired and worn out, I am thankful for the opportunity to have two jobs that work for my schedule and needs right now. 22. Thanksgiving happens to be my favorite holiday. I as well look at this holiday to remind me of why I am here on this earth and to be thankful for everything that I do have. I am thankful for my family. Without them I clearly wouldn't be where I am today. I'm thankful for all the support they have given me and for all the things they still provide for me. I am thankful for my friends. Without them I don't know that I would be able to stay strong in this chaotic world, they are my rocks when days are rough. I am thankful that I am able to come to school and strive towards my future goals. I am surely thankful that I have a job with the economy the way it is and to be able to afford things that most people today aren't able to. But above all things no matter how exhausted and tired I am, I am thankful to the "man upstairs" that I can wake up everyday and take more breaths.

  23. This year I have a lot more to be thankful for than in years past. My son, Brooklyn, finally has a good bill of health. For many years we have struggled with long hospital stays and sleepless nights. We are finally getting into a schedule that seems to work for all of us with all of his medication.

I'm thankful for my friends and family.
My family helps me out in these tough economic times if I'm ever in trouble. My friends have helped me find work and solve problems. My latest achievement, with help from friends, I landed a job at the Judicial Technology and Automation Committee; JTAC is an arm of the Indy Supreme Court. It's a great opportunity for me with an amazing pay. If it weren't for my friends help and support from my family, I would have never of gotten it.

  30. I am thankful for my wonderful family. This was the first holiday without my dad's dad, who passed away November 12th. We are all extremely close, and losing him was really hard on everyone. We barely got through his week long hospital stay. I know that without eachother, we would not have been able to do as well as we have without him.

  31. This year I am thankful for my education. I am graduating in two weeks with my Bachelors in Graphic Design. It is such an amazing feeling to have worked so hard for something and be able to be proud of what you have done at the end. I am thankful for my family, my Niece just turned a year old in November, and its funny how such a little child can bring a family so much closer together. Before her, my family rarely spent time together and now we find as many excuses as possible to all get together. I am also thankful for my boyfriends life. He was in a horrible drinking and driving accident this past March, and while his cousin ( 21 years old ) died during the wreck, but Jared lived. We were having alot of problems and had been broken up for a few months. Its sad how sometimes trajedys can really open up your mind and heart. We are now better than ever, moving in together in January!
