Now, I have made it clear in class that Thanksgiving is not my favorite holiday. I don't like the way schools fictionalize a story that sounds good, while ignoring the sad facts about how we really treated Native Americans in this country. That being said, I have learned to treat Thanksgiving as a reminder of all the things I am thankful for.
This year, as always, I am thankful for my faith, my family and my friends. I am blessed to be surrounded by people who love me. I am also thankful that I am able to make a living doing two things I love. This year, I'm especially thankful that I live in a country that allows me to freely express myself, even when I don't agree with my country's choices.
So, in honor of the holiday my question to you this week will be an easy one. "What are you thankful for this holiday season?" Answers are due no later than Wednesday, November 30th, 2016. I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday full of good food, good friends and good conversation! Enjoy your break!
I am thankful to live a blessed and abundant life surrounded by people who care about me. This year has been a struggle for me and mine, but we've made it through and will continue to shine on!
ReplyDeleteI'm mostly thankful for life. Being a Father its my mission, my calling, my purpose to lead by example. From every aspect in life. Waking up everyday with the opportunity or better myself. To strive and achieve new goals to prove to my children that its possible. Im thankful for my faith that the lord gives me. Although our nation is in a critical stage right now we still have the opportunity to live freely. That's a blessing.
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for so many things. I'm thankful to have a family that loves and supports me, I'm thankful for a great job, I'm thankful that I got the opportunity to pursue a college education, I'm thankful to have a a warm home to come back to, I'm thankful for a vehicle, really just everything!! And ultimately, as mentioned by many, I'm so thankful for my faith that gives my life purpose and hope. I am blessed.
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for many things. Most of the important ones that have created the person I am today are very complicated, so stick with me. I am thankful for all of the kids who bullied me for my entire life, I am thankful for my dad passing away when I was a child, I am thankful for my bipolar disorder and the struggles it has caused, and I am thankful for those things because they have shaped me into the strong woman that I am today. I am also thankful that I can take all of the negative things in my life and I can turn them into a very positive things. But I am most thankful for my faith and how God has never given up on me and has always given me hope towards my future.

ReplyDeleteOne of the things I am most thankful for is my precious cat Giuseppe. He brings so much warmth to my life, as well as all the other cats I have made friendships with throughout my life. Also, I am thankful for my caring family and my amazingly supportive friends. They have helped me through so much. I am also thankful for all of the amazing culture I have been exposed to throughout my life. I could go on for much longer about what I'm grateful for, but I'll quit while I'm ahead.
