Your Thoughts and Feedback Are Appreciated!

Well another quarter has come and gone!  I have enjoyed getting to know all of you and hearing your opinions in class!  When we started together, most of you hated politics, and now you are ready to go out and change the world!  I wish all of you blessings and success in the future.  Please stay in touch and feel free to visit and post on the blog whenever you like.

So for our last blog post, I would like to get your thoughts and feedback on the class.  "What did you like or dislike about the class?  What could I do to make it better?"  Answers are due no later than Monday, December 15th, 2014.  After that, the blog will be down until class resumes next quarter.  May you all have a joyful and peaceful holiday season!  Enjoy the break!

I liked the discussions we had in class. Some of them were pretty enjoyable, and some of them were pretty grim. I didn't think I would like this class but I actually enjoyed it! I'm still not that big on politics mainly because it upsets me so much but I think you're an awesome teacher and keep doing what you do!
I think the only thing I would change is the quizzes. I find it easier when a teacher lectures during the whole class period and then we take a quiz at the end. That way students can't leave early and that way the quizzes aren't always a loss. I always found myself forgetting things we went over the next week for the quiz. That was my only issue.

  2. While I still cannot say that I trust or will follow politics, I liked this class and the opportunity to hear what some of the younger generations thoughts and views are, I liked that some of the issues were sensitive, but no one was afraid to speak about the views that they had. I believe that is a measure of a good instructor when you can get everyone to discuss the topics that were raised.

  4. I must admit on the first day of class I was thinking it would be boring, I would be barley passing, and stressing over the homework. But once you started talking I realized this would be a "chill" class. I enjoy our discussion and topics you make the class feel like a fun little debate. I feel as if I have learned so much for you and my class mates. This class has became my favorite class of the quarter and I wouldn't change a thing. You the bomb.com lol

  5. I really enjoyed the class and you as a teacher. Before going into the class I thought we were going to discuss things that I had no interest in. Some things that were discussed throughout the quarter were not new to me, but I was provided more depth about them. THANK YOU!!!!

  6. I really liked the class and enjoyed the activity and challenges and it also had something new to offer making us aware of what is currently going on in the outside world which is a good thing keeping current in the political and news affairs.
The teacher and class was fun to be in and working with different people in groups.

  7. I liked the the class and I don't think you should change anything. Even though I still don't like politics, i still appreciated the highlights and insights of how politics work. And I'm always gonna be reminded of you every voting cycle. I enjoyed the class

  8. I really enjoyed the class. I am not big into politics, but I do like history. I learned a lot of things that I did not know about how things worked, or are supposed to work, and I like learning. You are an excellent instructor that really ought to think about be a comic. I had fun and hope to see you around the school.

  10. I was really worried about going into this class. History and politics have never been my strongest subjects. With your style of teaching, I felt like you made it a fun class, which helped me enjoy history and politics more than I ever have before. The only thing that I didn't really like, is that all of the test scores were worth five points, whether it was just a simple multiple choice question, or a short answer question. I think the questions that go more in depth should be worth more than multiple choice. That's my only complaint though. Other than that, I don't think that class could have been any better. Thank you for a great quarter. :)

  11. I have really enjoyed the class, and i really like you teaching style! I like the fact that the only homework we have are the blog and studying for the quizzes, but then have more going on in actual class time. That just makes the class easier to have fun with and be less stressed in general.
I have looked forward to this class every week and the only thing i would change would be that i sometimes felt like there was a slight bias towards liberal opinions, which is understandable since we are just people, and we can rarely hide the way we feel about things, and I'm not saying that's a bad thing, most of my opinions are pretty liberal, but i would have liked to have heard some more points of view from the "other side". :-)

Thank you so much for a truly great class!!!

  12. I thought I would hate this class, but the fact that you made it fun really helped! There's still a lot more for me to learn because it's not something I get tought once then I'll remember forever but I learned way more than I started out with! So thank you for a great quarter!! And happy holidays!

  13. Of all the classes I have taken so far here at Ai, this has been my favorite thus far. I love the fact that you did not make us do a whole lot of stuff that did not matter, I feel like you focused on what we needed to know- and I loved that. This class was never once stressful or boring! I enjoy your teaching style and your realness as an instructor. Thank you so much for helping me to see the government through a different perspective- I now have more questions when it comes to the way things run in America.
Happy Holidays and Good Luck with everything!

  14. I absolutely loved the class and I like you as a teacher! You make a boring (for most people) subject and make it fun to learn. No improvements need to be made if you ask me. I didn't have a single problem!

  15. I really enjoyed the class discussions we had in class about different topics. Although I was itching for a little more debate sometimes, it was fun getting to hear different people's points of view on todays/history's critical issues. I also really enjoyed having you (AND your sister) as teachers. You did a great job keeping the class entertained, but at the same time informed.

    Thank you very much!! :)

  16. I loved the class because it was casual and I still learned alot. More assignments with personal intrest would be nice. as long as it would relate to the topic of the class. Have a nice break your class was really fun to be in.

  17. One thing I did like was that we could feel free to speak our opinions to everyone and even in controversy.....the only thing I didn't like was that we didn't do a mock debate or mock election in class, I think those are kinda fun.... :)
